Denver (May 5, 2001) – IQdestination, a leading provider of technical education in the U.S. and Canada, has launched its proprietary Learning Management System (LMS). Learnframe, the leading developer of KnowledgE-Commerce and
e-learning infrastructure technologies, has provided Pinnacle, its learning management infrastructure technology, to be the backbone for this system.
The addition of an LMS completes IQdestination’s product suite, positioning the company as a national source for
e-learning, classroom training, collaborative learning and single-point administration.
“Learnframe’s willingness to help customize a solution for our clients led us to select their Pinnacle software from among several competitors,” says Brent Handler, IQdestination president and CEO. “Our implementation will give administrators a single point from which to entitle courses, monitor student progress, make budgetary decisions, and more.”
“IQdestination has done an excellent job building cohesive, end-to-end
e-learning solutions for their clientele,” said Ralph Mason, President of Learnframe. “Learnframe develops LMS infrastructures that allow increased flexibility and greater thoroughness for a complete platform. We welcome the opportunity to partner with IQdestination and be part of a very sound solution.”
Learning Management Systems are a galvanizing force in the
e-learning space, which is currently occupied by over 100 providers. “Just as HTML gave developers a common means of publishing content, an LMS presents a common interface to
e-learning students,” says Handler. “The administrative differences between the many content providers are now transparent.”
IQdestination will offer its LMS system on a per-user, Application Service Provider (“ASP”) hosted basis, to eliminate bandwidth concerns for customers.
“The ASP model is critical for making Learning Management affordable,” says Ken Williams, IQdestination vice president of operations. “Companies that host Learning Management themselves can spend well over $100,000 for their own custom deployments.”
Depending on the number of users, annual cost with the IQdestination system will be as little as $15 per user.
“A Learning Management System is a critical component in the overall training landscape,” says Larry Pakieser, technical training manager at Denver-based Verado, a collocation facility. “Without it, valuable information that could improve the organization is lost.”
