Draper, UT - December 8, 2000 - Learnframe, the leading developer of KnowledgE-Commerce™ and e-Learning infrastructure technologies, today announced the successful completion of the first round of SCORM testing of both its renowned courseware "connection" bridging software and learning management system Pinnacle.
The Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) is an initiative designed by the Department of Defense and the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy to accelerate large-scale development of dynamic and cost-effective learning software in an effort to meet the education and training needs of the military and the nation's workforce in the 21st century.
"As SCORM is adopted by the e-Learning industry, it promises to be a unifying specification that will bring disparate systems together into a complete solution for knowledge management customers," Learnframe's Director of Software Development, Curt Kanahele said. "SCORM has the potential of uniting e-Learning components into a complete re-usable system. We are pleased to be a part of this initiative."
Learnframe's compliance testing was evaluated using SCORM's Test Suite Version 1.0.1. The SCORM software was made available to provide organizations with the ability to perform self-testing on learning management systems, Assignable Units, Course Structure Format documents, and meta-data documents. Learnframe acknowledges meeting the standards established by this suite. A formal conformity certification is still necessary to meet the Advanced Distributive Learning specification SCORM v1.0 standard. This testing will be completed soon by an external organization to attain full certification.
According to Learnframe's CEO and Chairman, Mike Memmott Sr., "The emerging SCORM standard and our efforts to match the compliance requirements has allowed us to meet the challenges set by this high standard. SCORM is the equivalent of a "Military Spec" applied to education. Learnframe fully supports the SCORM standard."
